At PEHRAV, we believe fashion should empower people and protect the planet. This policy outlines our commitment to ethical sourcing, environmental responsibility, and social accountability across our supply chain.

1. Sustainable Material Sourcing

a. Fabrics & Materials

  • Organic Cotton: Prioritize GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard)-certified cotton.

  • Recycled Materials: Use recycled polyester (rPET) and post-consumer waste fabrics.

  • Natural Dyes: Minimize synthetic dyes; adopt AZO-free and OEKO-TEX® certified dyes.

  • Alternatives to Leather: Promote vegan leather (e.g., cactus, mushroom-based).

b. Local & Traditional Crafts

  • Partner with Indian artisans for handloom, Khadi, and block-printed textiles.

  • Support GI-tagged products (e.g., Banarasi silk, Pashmina).

2. Fair Labor Practices

a. Safe Working Conditions

  • Ensure factories comply with India’s Factories Act, 1948 and Minimum Wages Act, 1948.

  • Prohibit child labor, forced labor, and discrimination (caste, gender, religion).

b. Living Wages

  • Pay fair wages above regional minimums, with overtime compensation.

  • Provide health insurance and Provident Fund (PF) benefits.

c. Worker Empowerment

  • Conduct annual third-party audits (e.g., SEDEX, SA8000).

  • Partner with NGOs for skill development programs (e.g., stitching, tailoring).

3. Environmental Responsibility

a. Carbon Footprint Reduction

  • Aim for carbon neutrality by 2040 (offset via renewable energy projects).

  • Optimize logistics to reduce fuel consumption (route planning, electric delivery vehicles).

b. Waste Management

  • Recycling Programs: Collect post-consumer garments for recycling.

  • Zero-Waste Packaging: Use compostable mailers and recycled cardboard.

  • Deadstock Fabric: Repurpose excess fabric into accessories or donation drives.

c. Water Conservation

  • Partner with suppliers using waterless dyeing technologies.

  • Treat wastewater to meet  Pollution Control Standards.

4. Animal Welfare

  • No Fur or Exotic Skins: Strict ban on angora, mink, or reptile leather.

  • Wool & Silk: Source only from RWS (Responsible Wool Standard) and Peace Silk suppliers.

  • Cruelty-Free: Ensure no animal testing for beauty/lifestyle products.

5. Supplier Accountability

a. Vendor Code of Conduct All suppliers must:

  • Disclose factory locations and subcontractors.

  • Pass annual ethical audits.

  • Commit to continuous improvement (e.g., reducing chemical use).

b. Transparency

  • Map and publish Tier-1 supplier list on our website.

  • Share annual Sustainability Report with progress metrics.

c. Non-Compliance

  • Terminate partnerships with suppliers violating human rights/environmental norms.
